Privacy Policy for Heartlog

Heartlog (“we”, “us”, “our”) explains how we collect, use, and protect information in the Heartlog mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Local Device Identifier (HashID)

• When the app is installed, we generate a pseudonymous device identifier (“HashID”).
• It is stored locally on your device and contains no personal information.
• The HashID is used to create an anonymous PlayFab account so your progress persists across sessions.

1.2 Optional Account Linking

If you choose to link an account:

• We collect an email and password, which are managed exclusively by Microsoft PlayFab.
• Linking is optional. The app can be used without providing an email.

1.3 User Content

We collect content you submit, including:

• Journal entries
• Reflections
• Messages written for in-app characters

This content is stored in Firebase Cloud Storage and/or Firebase Firestore.
